Nice write-up! Arlyn is certainly one of our premier adventurers and seamen. And it educated me--I never knew the C-250 was so big (26'11")--almost as big as the C-27 (26'10")! Maybe they're including the rudder, which is under the C-27.

But Dave, quiet on the LOA. If the marina new I have a 27' they just might increase my slip fees. And for that matter, everyone on this forum;), except of course you! We better to nice to Mr. Bristle. Steve A

According to Catalina, the C-25 LOA is 25'. I'm pretty sure that's also the LOD.
It looks like the summer Great Lakes cruises will resume.
We recently returned to Texas following a short window vacation to Michigan to attend two family reunions to discover that while gone, my long time construction crew had moved on to greener pastures. With a heavy work load ahead, it meant breaking in new crew or retiring and it wasn't a hard decision as keeping the business going was in part to keep the crew going.
So, I've retired and with it comes freedom to spend 2-3 months in Michigan during summers and resume cruising. It is the reason for keeping the boat during the long ten year absence from sailing. The previous eight straight years of Great Lakes cruising had been due to another long time employee who was capable of running the business during my absence but I've not enjoyed that luxury in ten years.
Looking forward to recommissioning the boat to make ready for next summer. As well, we had acquired a suitable RV trailer to sustain summer living in Michigan. Tentative plans are to leave one or both there.

Depends on the marina. My marine measures what they call "ELOD", which is the distance from the first item on the boat to the last. That includes the external rudder, an engine when flipped up, and the bow pulpit. By those measurements a C-25 is about 28'. My Pearson 28 is only 29.5' measured this way because there is nothing sticking out beyond the end of the transom and the bow pulpit sticks out about 1'. It lets me just fit into a 30' slip.
It makes sense for a marina to measure that way, that is how much space the boat takes on a dock.
Boat manufacturers measure LOA just based on the hull, not appendages, so it is shorter.
