The sailing season started off very well at our little lake here in central CA. Sailing every thursday night in the beer can series, week ends and other days. We didn,t get to take the boat to the delta asplanned, the elder son signed up fo precalc, then my wife taught a compositon ar the UC.
What realy messed it up for me was the need for a hernia operation right before I started teaching our localsailing camp. Well I would have had the operation, but a detatched retina got in the way. First fix on that didn't work, the second was better, 4 weeks in and I have distorted vishion I hope will clear up.
Good news, I am cleared fo activity next week from the eye, and I'm on the bed at home recovering from this mornings hernia operation. I've been getting by today reminissing about last years delta trip, 8 days with my wife, 15 year old son, 16 yearold boy from Italy, 12 year old son (he did ditch us for a few nights on a bigger boat with A/C and a flat screen TV)). Oh my old college roomate was with us too. Got that 6 people on our old 25 foot boat. Probably the best trip we have ever been on.

Six people, eight days, on a C-25... Wow! You people must really like each other! That's maybe 25 square feet per person, including the cockpit! Great memory! (But I don't think I know five other people for whom that could work... )

Tough recent period, but the eye and the abdomen should come around. But you might have to buy a flat-screen for your boat now! (We have threads on that here... )

Hope everything gets better soon!

We were on the delta doo dah, sponsered by latitude 38. Not the smallest boat, by one. Most of the boats were 30 to40's with 2 or3 people.
