That video was all over the TV here last night!

Was that the place they had huge hail stones flying around?

Awesome picture!!! Would not want that to be caught on the water when that hit.

Great shot, thanks for sharing. One state to the left, you can watch a thunder storm several miles away pass through a valley, without experiencing a drop of rain yourself.

What a beautiful picture! Wish I could have been there to see it.

We had an awesome lightning show last night up on Lake Travis. I haven't seen one like this in probably 30 years. Lasted 3 or 4 hours.

One of those events where it rained on us for maybe 10 minutes and the rest of the time we got to watch the lightning show. We were on the 4th floor of a condo that sits on top of a rock outcropping that's approx. 75 feet above the current lake level so in all we are approx. 115 feet above the current lake level and about 125 feet from the edge of the lake.

At one point it was raining so hard we could barely see the marina that's a couple of hundred yards away. Sitting on the balcony it was like being up in the storm itself.

Yes there were hail stones baseball and bigger.
BUT I think I may actually launch my boat this month, there has been enough rain to put water back in our slip. I have not sailed in over a year.

We had almost the exact same situation last night at my marina. Sky turned black, drizzled for 30 or 40 minutes then the sun came out right at sunset. Looked like we were going to have a major storm but it ended up going about 10 miles West of the marina. We just caught the edge.

At home 30 miles West of the marina my wife said the wind was howling and it rained very hard for about an hour.

Here's another storm, taken from space... See if you can recognize it's spread.

<center><b>Sandy</b></center>

Hint: You can see a little bit of Georgia, Wisconsin, and Newfoundland.
