Today I got a request from iBoats to review the Garelick boat hook that I bought recently to replace the one we lost. I indicated on the form that I wasn't satisfied and thought that the labeling of the boat hook was somewhat misleading even though technically there was nothing wrong with the hook or their shipping/selling to me. When is submitted the review the website prompted me to email them about my experience, so I cut & pasted the review, and added some explanatory text stating that I wasn't willing to pay for it to be shipped back, and that I'd probably just give it away at my marina or something.
So, about 30 minutes later, I get a very nice email telling me that I don't have to return it, they credited my credit card for the purchase (less shipping fees), and an apology. I've never had any trouble with ordering things from them before, and I wasn't about to stop based on this experience (they'd done nothing wrong really, it's Garelick's own copy that's somewhat misleading). Just thought I'd pass it along.

WOW I’m old enough to remember what customer service once meant. You see it so seldom now it kind of nice to hear there is still a bit of it floating around. I will keep “Iboats” in mind next year if we decide to replace the old Honda 9.9
