After testing a new sail today, we were heading back into the Marina and spotted this: It never touched down, but was fun to watch it develop and retreat back into the cell.
The sail went great...I just completed a Sailrite 135 kit for my Catalina 22 and needed to test it out before this weekend's race. 8-12kt winds, the boat was quick and easily maintained 6 knots on a beam run.
We had one on the bay in Pensacola last week, really cool. Saw a larger on from underneath on Lake Erie once, not nearly as cool. The helmsman yelled "coming about", and we did two full revolutions. When Bob said "coming about" after that we usually asked him how many times
