We went to the boat show in Norwalk, CT yesterday and although the weather was great we were disappointed that Catalina did not appear to show up. They were listed in the program but we could not find a single Catalina. Otherwise, there were plenty of power boats, a few beautiful Beneteau sailboats and all the vendors selling their wares under the big tent. Overall we had a good time.

Catalina probably went directly from Newport to Annapolis for next week--most of the sailboats do that. Sometimes a few of them divert one boat to the Norwalk show on the way. A couple of years ago, there was exactly one sailboat there--a Beneteau--nobody noticed. Out of pity, I let the guy give me the full tour and asked lots of questions.
I skipped Norwalk this year--too much money for a couple of hours of wandering among Sea Rays, Regals, Yanmars, and Yamahas.
Dave, Someone once told me that all the boats in that Marina have to move out for the duration of the show.If it is true that would really annoy me to no end.
Not all, but probably about 3/4. It's part of the contract. Several docks at the east end aren't affected. I don't know where most of the evicted boats go, but that marina (Norwalk Cove) does a huge winter storage business in the same big yard, so the boats come back after the show. (They have a 150-ton travel lift, among other things.)
