Last May I fried the inboard diesel engine. I was able to remove it and send it off to be rebuilt. Getting it out of the boat was a real challenge. Finally got it back and installed then took off for a two month RV trip. While it was down decided to redo several items. Long story short launched it yesterday and took it for a sail in light to almost dead air. Plan to sail it a lot this week and spend a night or two on it.

Life is not a dress rehearsal. You will not get another chance.
Great bimini setup if you have moved the mainsheet to mid boom. Simplifies going forward with the bimini up, but would not shade the admiral in her normal position (lounging back against the cabin bulkhead). If you keep the mainsheet at boom-end, then the bimini must be placed forward over the companionway. I had mine set so that the forward edge on the bimini was just aft of the vang.
You just gave me an idea. If I put a two ended zipper where the aft stay goes through I could move the bimini forward or back to keep shade where best used. So far it has worked well for us. Would have to move outhaul cleat forward also. Maybe next year.
It is interesting to "sail to the bimini" rather than the wind to keep certain areas of the cockpit shaded. On a small lake like mine we aren't going anywhere anyway so it ends up being just another sailing objective.
