Will be down to Westbrook CT this weekend to tinker and to perhaps take it out for a little play. Anyone on this forum in the area and open to helping me think through order of upgrades?
Looking forward to getting to know everyone here.
Will be looking soon for instruments, a spinnaker, and some other stuff -

Congrats, Steve! I'm just up the highway, but won't be around this weekend. Looks like it'll be a little chilly for "playing"... Is she in Pilot's Point?
Congratulations! On your new-to-you Cat25. Pilots Point and Westbrook harbor are really classy and nicely situated near the CT river, not far from New London and the Thames. not far from the LI north fork, Block Island and Gardiners Bay. Loads of adventures. Fitting your boat out has everything to do with your style. Creature comforts, gizmos, lush interior of teak, leather or fine fabrics, fine brass clocks, lanterns and weather gauges, super cool electronics, lighting options, nav station, galley fittings. It's all doable. It depends entirely on you. But first things - it's good to know about your plumbing, the windows (port lights), electrical, running lights, bilge pump, keel, rudder, mast rigging, halyards and lines, outboard, sails, safety gear. Welcome - use the resources here: search, ask questions, tech tips, and get familiar with Catalina Direct. They'll save your bacon one way or another.

Their C-25 Owner's Handbook is a well-spent $10, even though it's primarily their catalog for the boat. This third-party outfit is the preeminent supplier of replacements and upgrades for smaller Catalina boats, especially our own. They know our boats just about down to the individual hull numbers, and can provide very good advice.
The next best $22 you can spend is to join this association. That gives you access to discounts, such as on a nice, new 4-stroke, electric start outboard... and supports this resource.
