Our restoration project suffered from two small window leaks in the main cabin...one port and one starboard. The PO had tried the typically unsuccessful application of many silicone beads. Not only did it look ugly it didn't work either. I ordered a new seal kit from Catalina Direct and then ran across an English product called Capt Tolley's Crack Cure. A 2 ounce bottle was $14 at West Marine. I read the many positive testimonials on several blogs. I was skeptical of a snake oil product but I thought what could I lose but $14.
At any rate I cleaned and trimmed as much of the goobered layers of silicone and whatever else was on the windows. That action at least improved the cosmetic appearance of the windows. The liquid is applied in a very thin bead through a hole the diameter of a pin and in dry conditions. The liquid wicks into voids through capillary action, according to the directions on the bottle and dries hard.
I am happy to report that after several applications both leaks have been defeated. Yahoo. Since the boat is moored in Bremerton, Washington we have plenty of rain to test this product.
Count me as a very happy customer...and I have at least half the bottle left.

Very interesting. I'm in the same position as you. I ordered the seal kit from Catalina Direct but have not yet done the job. I haven't heard of Capt. Tolley's.
Did you use Capt. Tolley in addition to the seal kit from CD, or instead of it?
The product's website is amateur-hour and the only video I could find was uploaded in another era. It's impossible to make out what he is doing.
