Still learning.....and need some help. 1. I am trying to determine the manufacturer of the furler on "Mast Confusion", 83 SR. The decals have worn off so I am having a hard-time finding any info on its maintenance. 2. I need to remove the sail from the furler and having never done this, any help would be appreciated. I will post pics of the furler soon....between work, snow and rain, I can't get to the marina to take pics. Would the furler have been original on a 83?

Furlers early on looked different than they do today. If you are near a sail loft or marina they may be able to help. Other than that take pictures from all angles and post for our input.
If it is a CDI and there is a good chance it is, then if you do not tie a messenger to the halyard when taking the sail off you will be very sorry. Go to the CDI website and look at the instruction manual for an ff4 model and see if there are similarities to what you have.
