Question: Does anybody have experience in removing the center board while the boat is on the trailer.
It would seem to be possible without jacking the boat up from the trailer since the board overhangs the centerboard bunk by some distance. The up-haul cable would have to be detached
Has anybody installed wedges/spacers to prevent "center board clunking", and if so in what exact location. Pictures would be very helpful

I did it but jacked the nose of the boat up in the air. Reshimmed the pivot pin, but I did have the centerboard off. Two people are really needed reinstalling it and a lot easier using dowel pins to reinstall centerboard bearing cap. It's quite heavy and cumbersome.
I have done this twice... I put a 2x4 over a bottle jack that I placed on the trailer tongue. Worked well enough to install the shim kit available from Catalina Direct. The kit comes with clear instructions as to where to place the shim discs. Good Luck! Willy
