I installed the new main sail from Catalina Direct yesterday. It is with full battens, loose foot with two reef points. It was a nice installation, however I prefer the old way of retaining battens. The sail seems to be well made. I took the boat out for a test sail and there was a some improvement in the pointing ability. (I also raked the mast back a little and re-tensioned) Wind was moderate to light. Had some trouble getting it flaked on the boom and the sail cover was tighter on the sail. The old pre sized sail straps that I used for the old sail were a little to short for the new one in the same location.

Yes - New sails are a bit hard to flake - Do not compress like the old sails. I would save those old straps. Perhaps by mid-season, they may be able to be used again as the sail flakes more compactly.
(I am waiting on mine too. I assume the CD sail is an Ulman Ventura so mine will be like yours. Did it come with a jackline on the reef slugs?) No-I used the ones from the old sail.
