CD offers this kit as an option for moving the main sheet forward. I like the concept, but wonder about how useful it will actually be. I can't visualize how you keep control of the line if the boom is out very far. Anyone have any experience using a similar setup?

The Headknocker rig has been used by serious C22 racers for years, try it. If you do not like it you will have some useful hardware in your drawer.

That just gives you the option of adjusting the mainsheet from forward or boom end. It doesn't really move the mainsheet forward or do anything to keep it from stretching all the way across the cockpit when going downwind.

If I still had my C-25 I think I'd move the traveler to the front of the cockpit and go to 3/4 boom sheeting. It puts a little more load on the boom, but not a lot.
