About two weeks ago I received an email from Good Old Boat magazine (I subscribe) saying that they are interested in putting together a review of the Catalina 25 and they're soliciting owner's impressions and experiences. I'd be surprised if I'm the only participant in this forum who subscribes to that magazine, so I'm kinda surprised that nobody has mentioned it yet.

Here's a chance to boost the resale value of our boats

Seriously, though, as much advice as people have offered on this forum over the years I would think there would be a lot of interest in providing some of the same kind of information to a potentially large audience of prospective boating enthusiasts that might not realize what an outstanding craft the Catalina 25 is.

If anyone is interested in contributing, the person to send an email to is Dan Spurr at: danspurr@aol.com

The kinds of information he suggested, as a starting point, is:

· sailing characteristics (good and bad)
· level of quality in the build
· what you like most about the boat
· what you like least about the boat
· specific problems you and others have had with this boat, like a leaky hull/deck joint
· advice you would give to someone considering buying this boat

So, I hope some of you will accept the challenge. I'd like to see the magazine come out with an informed article based on feedback from people who are knowledgeable. It would be a shame if the Catalina 25 gets poorly immortalized, in an article that will continue to circulate for many years to come, just because the author didn't have the perspective that we on this forum could provide.

Frank owned the two most differing versions--I'm thinking he could just write the article! (One item worth including is a reference to this community.)
