Hello Gerardo,

Are you looking to purchase new or used? You may know used are few and far between (just like a wing keel hull). Where are you located?

Sounds like you need to move a boat now. Can you hire a boat hauler with an adjustable bunk trailer? Could you borrow or rent one until you find one to purchase? I have an empty wing keel trailer sitting in my driveway, but I'm in the Ohio Valley . . .

A cradle in a flat bed will work.

There was only one trailer manufacturer that had the specs from Catalina (at least that's what they told us ) which was Trailer-Rite of Santa Ana.

It shouldn't take much to modify a swing keel trailer to accommodate a wing - not something you can do on the fly on the boat ramp however.

We had a lot of fun acquiring our boat and trailer - they were on opposite coasts! Have fun and travel safe .

A little less than what we paid for the boat

Triad makes a good product also. Quad disc brakes makes a big difference in stopping power as well.

Good luck!

To our knowledge, if you are trailing in Florida, the trailer is required to have breaks on both axles. (We found out while planning to tow JD up the East coast. Now we have Discs on all 4 wheels!

You paid almost as much for the trailer as you did for the boat? I can't believe you did that! I thought I was the only one .
I came close to buying a couple of used trailers but someone always beat me to it. I finally broke down and found a local shop to build me a new one. There are plenty of builders that have C25 specs, most with comparable quotes. The difference is how close they are, you pay for the driving or shipping. Triad, Loadmaster and Trailrite have nice trailers at good prices but the transport was too much.
I also opted to pay extra for 10,000 lb. axles instead of the usual 7500 lb. included in most quotes but did not pay extra for galvanized since I sail mostly in fresh water or haul out and power wash in salt water. Brakes on both axles were standard on all the quotes I received. Good luck, Craig.

Yeah, but Craig, did you buy a new trailer when boat prices were dropping like a rock? We did! That takes real insanity!

Hey Gerardo,

I just bought a catalina 25 swing keel boat but the problem is that the prior owner never had it out of the water to trailer around. So he bought a wing/full keel trailer for it so he could sell outside of his area (boulder city Nevada.)

The trailer although works, is just too big for my boat.

I was looking at the one in orlando as well. I'm located in lake havasu city AZ. I'd be willing to sell you mine, so I could then purchase the swing keel trailer in florida.

My trailer has quad disc brakes and is in really good condition.

Lemme know!

Have trailer for Catalina 25 Wing Keel for sale. Modified to take C25 Swing Keel also. San Antonio, TX (Lake Medina) area. In May of this year this trailer hauled my C25 from Canyon Lake, TX to Corpus Christi, TX (about 160 miles on I-37). It may look a little rough, but everything works, it's licensed and structurally sound. Asking $1250.00. PM or e-mail me direct for pix.

Kiko,
When you say too big for the boat, what do you mean. is it just too tall to hold a cat 25 swing keel, or is it for a bigger boat, say a catalina 27 or 28? I might be interested if could hold a catalina 28 wing....
Cheers,
Scott

Hey Scott,

first off I messed up. It does not have disc brakes, it has a surge brake system.
And yes, the trailer can easily handle a bigger boat, it is super tall.

PM me for pics. I'd sell it for $1500.
