I would appreciate it if someone with a 2004 or newer boat with wheel steering could provide me with the part number of the wheel brake knob. Thanks in advance.

Paul, I found that but, it does not specified the shaft length for the quick release nut. If you take a look at yours it should have a shaft attached about 8 1/2" long which releases the brake. That is the one I need the part number for my wheel. If you remove yours I hope it has a part number on it somewhere. The Edson support line and I had a tough time communicating and he gave me a part number that did not match any paperwork that came with the boat.

Well finally ordered and it is on the way for $126.95 including tax. Someone decided they needed it more than me and since my boat is parked in the back yard it was not hard. I think they tried to get in the boat also since one set of screws were loose on the hatch hinges. I am just glad they did not pull on the wheel or they would have got that. I guess the way the nut is set up, they figured it held the wheel on and a wrench was require for removal. O well such is life on the water.

Jerry, if you have a home alarm system, you can probably add a wireless transmitter sensor to your boat.
Our setup is a wireless transmitter door contact. It's secured in the cabin by Velcro. If someone opens the boat when the alarm is armed it will trigger the siren and alert us.
When we move JD to the water, I detach the sensor and put it indoors Velcroed next to a spare magnet so that I can arm the system at the house while the boat is away.
You have me thinking that it may be a good idea to add a 2nd sensor to the swim ladder.
Could a wireless security sensor work over 600 feet? All I have look into have a range of 100 feet or less. I do have power out there so I am thinking a big spot light and siren hooked to a sensor with some kind of information hook up to the house. Maybe a small horn in the house that will alert me, but not wake up the neighbors like our house alarm.
