I am a trailer-sailor who owns a 1990 Catalina 22 wing keel. My boat is perfect for trailering, but it is a bit small for the Great Lakes, my preferred sailing grounds. I would like to upgrade to a 1989-90 C25 wing with a trailer. If anyone is considering selling their boat and it is located within 1200 driving miles of Minnesota, please contact me. Thank you, Parker.

Saw this advert the other day. Don't know anything about the boat, but with one quick search I found the 2011 Sailing Texas ad for the same boat.

Good luck with your search.

Just a caution: Many of us consider the C-25 to be a "transportable yacht"--not a "trailer-sailer" like the C-22, in that set-up and take-down is considerably more involved. You can find many discussions on this using our Search function, including the use of A-frames and hours required. One member even created a system to lower and raise his mast under way to get under a bridge between his home dock and the big water. We were amazed!

All I'm saying is it different.

Hmmm. Isn't this the same boat?

I didn't think it would stay on the market very long.

Thank you.. everyone for the comments. I also found the listing for that boat at Joe Pool Lake TX and have been talking with the owner. The problem with that boat is it has no trailer. I have been shopping around for trailers and they start at $4500. Adding it all up, including two trips to texas, the boat would cost me around $15K. That seems a bit high. I still will fly down to see it if we can work somthing out.
thanks-Parker

Parker, you can avoid having your e-mail address harvested by spammers by deleting it from your original post and allowing people to contact you via your profile by clicking on your user name (at left). That presents an option to e-mail you via the address you registered with, without showing what that address is. It's protection for all of us.

EDIT: I just noticed you used an address as your user name... You might want to have our webmaster change that for you so it isn't food for harvesting systems. (See our Officer/Staff listing.)

For some perspective, we spent $9,500 for our 1989 wing keel and $9,000 for a new Trail-Rite trailer. Flew to Santa Ana, purchased a used pick-up and drove to Boston to fetch the boat - then brought it home to the Ohio Valley.

You seem to be getting the boat for a good price.

IMHO, the '89-91 C-25 (especially the wing) is the best value in a 25' cruising sailboat ever made. It seems they stopped making them because it was becoming too costly, and the market was shifting toward bigger boats and simpler trailerable boats. Not even Catalina makes a boat in that category now.

You are fortunate!

I have a 1991 wing located in Scottsdale Az that is sail 6030 which is the second to the last C25 Catalina built. Very nice condition with a one year old Merc Bigfoot 9.9 electric start with throttle shift mounted in cockpit. Includes gin pole system for mast raising and on a trail rite trailer with new 15 inch tires, wheels and bearings. I easily tow it to San Diego with a half ton Suburban. Tiller autopilot, Bimini, pop-top cover still in factory wrapper, 150 Geny on CDI roller furler. Need to get $15,000 for the package. Wschultz4@cox.net

Any chance you might want to sell the pop top cover by itself?

No, I don't think I want to sell it separately. I know they are a hot commodity. I would prefer to hang onto it for a buyer who might treasure it in a deal on the boat. Funny thing is I don't think my pop top has ever been opened.

It's somewhat less necessary for headroom with the '89+ design due to the lower cabin sole. But on a nice night, or hot day, it can be wonderful! (Just keep it down under way.)
