I'm sure there are others on the forum that use a whisker pole but I can only remember seeing posts from you two guys. I know Steve has the wk and I think a 135% just like I do.
My question; how high up the mast did you mount the pad eye? I have the adj 6-12 hd. & a 135% headsail. I am going to go thru the process of unrolling the sail at the dock and coming up with a height that way. I am looking for a double check before I drill holes in the mast.
Because the clew on furling jibs are often cut higher off the deck, you will probably want to eyeball the actual placement of the padeye by unfurling the sail and putting the whisker pole at the clew, then hold the inboard end next to the mast - with the pole horizontal. You might find that you are 4' or more off the deck.
I would use Bills method to establish the point if your not using a track. I used a short 2 ft track and hit it right about middle but I have a 110. Can give you my numbers...but doubt there good for you.
My track is a 2 foot track and measures 25 inches. The bottom is 22.5 inches up from the bottom of the mast. The ring is presently parked at 27.5 inches from the bottom of the mast.
