Has anyone replaced the two lever Morse engine controls with a single handle type ? I've seen several options available at Catalina Direct. The replacement seems pretty straight forward, but I can't find any instructions. I'm wondering if I need to make any changes to the cable ends in order to connect the existing cables to the new controls. Catalina Direct didn't have much information on this detail. Thanks in advance for your help.

You may not know but your boat is rare, Catalina built few inboards and there are only a few that use this forum... only one I can think of currently. You will not get a lot of answers about things like parts for your boat on this forum, while some of us are happy to bloviate you will do better to focus on researching the engine and steerage parts with google and finding answers on other types of boats with similar installations.
Thanks. I know the inboard diesel is one of about 150 boats out of the total 6000 or so made. That's not the endorsement I would have expected for this forum. I appreciate your candor. I'll continue to explore this forum along with other online and IRL resources.

I think you mis-read Frank. I believe what he was saying is that due to the fact that not many C25's came with inboards you probably won't get many if any answers here about the engine. All other aspects about a C25 are more than welcome. You could try a C27 or C30 forum. They had more inboards in those models or a general sailing forum. That engine was used in many different boats.

The Northstar 500 sailboats boats were equipped with a single lever control, round base, and I think the lever could be unscrewed from the base when not needed, reducing the possibility of a sheet getting caught on it. I would look for one of those type controls, if they are still being made. Sorry, I don't know the name of the maker.
Edit: After looking at the pics on the CD website, it looks like the controls on the NS500's were also Morse. The new single removable lever control from CD looks neat, but pricey!
