Happy holidays all.

My son bought a C27, his first boat, and I am helping get her in order. So fun!

So, what's the name of the metal "tab" the screws into a pivot on end of boom to which the main sheet is attached? Has a small angle to it.

His is broken and I wish to find a replacement...but can't seem to find it anywhere. It would help if I knew the real name of the part.

I would also value any recommendations of where to find one. :)

Thanks!

Not exactly sure the piece you are referring to but the manual section of this Forum has a parts catalog. Below is the picture they have of the boom assembly. Not sure when you state "screws into a pivot" what that would refers to but I believe it may be piece 9, the gooseneck casting/assembly, since the main sail connects to it by using a clevis pin thru the casting tab. Perhaps if you can zoom in on the photo, you can pinpoint the piece number.
Also, Catalina Direct sells boom assemblies. I would check out below link to Catalina Direct's standing rigging hardware to see if anything matches what you are looking for:

You may be right that he needs the upper shroud main sheet tang as you have shown....if instead of "boom", he meant "MAST".

Buzz seems to have posted what you need but I replaced mine with a thicker/wider piece of SS. It seems the original tangs are prone to breaking. You have to remove the end cap to get to the bolt nut. Those screws holding the end cap to the boom can be hard to extract.

You guys got it right. I now see my misunderstanding - I misinterpreted main sheet thinking what was meant was main sail. I was considering the wrong end of the boom !
