This is the third year I have had my 2005 C250. Last year prior to splashing I buffed using Finesse it II and followed with a wax. Prior to that there was minor oxidation. I was very happy with the results.

My question is this. Should I again use the 3M compound and wax, or wax only? There is very little oxidation, but there are a few places that are not as shiny. I am not opposed to buffing again (Makita buffer and the 3M compound ) if it "should" be done, but do not want to waste the time or money if is not needed. It is in a shed now for the winter, so if it is to be done, now is the time.

Since this is my first boat, I am looking for advice from you folks that have been through this many times...

Thanks in advance for your help

If its not much oxidation and you just want to bring the shine up again you could use a cleaner wax or just the wax itself. One of those should do it if your using a wheel. Gel coat is very thin so try to avoid the compound if at all possible.
