So a while ago I picked up a neglected Walker Bay 10 for a steal. Took it home, power washed all of the growth and barnacles off and even had to scrape it (pretty bad). Hung it up after that for a bit. For Xmas got some oars for it for a present. Then recently found an entire sail kit for it for about $300.
Went to try and fit it yesterday and remembered that the front seat which supports the mast was shattered so started making one out of 3/4" ply with two stringers and fiberglassed it. It was my first time fiberglassing which I've wanted to try for awhile and I figured this would be a forgiving project. It's all glasses now just needs final paint but I am waiting as I needed to order a couple things to complete the setup which includes a mast support tube which I think I might glass in, so that's on hold for the moment. But I'm pretty excited as its near ready. All in with the boat, sail kit, oars, materials and parts I'm only out $600 and I have myself a pretty versatile little dink. Having the sail kit will add another fun activity when at anchor to be able to sail around little coves and explore.

Now that's a nice looking dink. Best of luck with her. Does she have a name? Maybe "Little Buoy"?
