I have been kicking around the idea of purchasing a new/used trailer that would put my swing keel C25 lower to the ground, making it easier to launch and retrieve on shallow ramps.
Any ideas of what I'm looking at cost wise and what trailer brands would work best.
I paid about $6000 for an aluminum trailer with galvanized uprights, torsion springs, titan axles and 4 wheel Titan surge discs. AMW is in Panama City, FL, so that probably wouldn't help much. I did use the roller arms from the old trailer with new rollers. I compared a couple of national manufacturers, don't remember who, and they were a couple thousand higher for a steel trailer because the insisted that I needed a trailer with an 8500 pound capacity. There was only around a $500 difference between a 6K and 8.5K trailer. My aluminum trailer is about 500 pounds lighter the my old steel trailer. I don't remember the weight of the 8500 pound capacity trailer, but I do remember that it would have put me well over the 7K towing capacity of my Cherokee.
