"A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS OF 31 TO 39 MPH... OR GUSTS OF 46 TO 57 MPH...ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING."
Many days I've gone out on these kinds of days but after spending the night in a quiet cove I was just not up to a full day of sailing in such conditions ( these were actually the predictions for above 2000 feet in the north Georgia mountains ) but we had some serious gusts and white caps on the lake... I think the windsurfers loved it.. After a morning of sailing I anchored up in a protected cove. Buttoned up and motored in by 1:00.

We had a 12 hour wind advisory and a 6 hour warning. The front delivered sustained winds of 30 and frequent gusts (like several times a minute) ranging from 44 - 64. At least it got all the dead debris out of the trees before I cleaned up the yard.

Had winds forecast around here (Northern Virginia) for gusts up to 60 mph, peaking around 0100-0200 in the morning. I doubled Pualani's lines Saturday just in case. I haven't been back to the marina since then, but no frantic calls from the Marina Manager, so I assume all is well. All I have to worry about now is dirty gutters here at home (sigh).

Freezing slush on the fallen branches here... Hope the shrink-wrap is still OK. (If not, what the heck.)
