There has been a good bit of desire for bow rollers on a c250 so that a claw anchor can be used.
During some prep work today for the upcoming Bahamas cruise, I cleaned out the anchor locker and inspected the rodes on both my anchors. While both were out... I decided to test the possibility of stowing both anchors in the anchor locker not believing it possible but not knowing until it was tried. note: my claw was previously stowed in a cockpit locker.
I was surprised to discover that my 13 lb Deepset II Danforth and 16.5 lb Horizon Claw each with 185 feet of 1/2 inch rode and 15 feet of chain will both fit within the locker and in a fashion for quick and easy deployment.
I am thinking you may get both in the locker but may encounter problems removing the Delta Fast-Set with the rode of the Danforth still in the locker. The reason is that plow blades extend aft of the shank and rode will get coiled over the blades.
I like the idea of a bow roller. This would allow the ancho to be left outside, hanging on the bow. This should allow for further storage of another anchow inside the normal anchor area. I would like to see a boat with this added on.
