The VHF on my boat is mounted under the starboard rail. I'd like to mount my new Horizon CD player (comes in a waterproof case) right next to it. I'm wondering what the radio is screwed into. The screws are relatively short. I'm wondering what the composition of the deck is. If it's just fiberglass, I wonder if it will hold the weight of the CD player--which is twice the size of my radio. Alternatively, there are two large bolts coming through the deck. I'm not sure what they hold, maybe the jib track? I doubt that the aft shrouds are that far back. Maybe I could use the bolts to bolt a piece of stainless steel to use as a bracket? Comments?

Bruce - sail is in the mail I emailed you the tracking number.

Here is a picture of what we did with our radio and stereo. It was fairly inexpensive using just two teak binocular holders. (We do have the luxury of an added bulkhead in that area.)

Rather thick and sturdy, actually.

I was just goofing off while using up the tail end of a roll of film before rushing off to get some earlier photos on the roll developed quickly.

Holy crap Leon??

Are you sailing the Queen Mary or a Catalina 25. That looks awesome. Do you have more details about the panel. Cost, whats entailed etc. Feel like making another one?

Leon, did you take the pic down? The link doesn't work. I'd love to see how you've dealt with this, I"m hopeing to figure something out soon for my radios.

Duane, where on earth did you get that bulkhead for the starboard side? I've always thought that it would be nice to have one there. I don't use the aft for a berth anymore, but if I'd had that as a headboard, I might have continued! Regardless, it seems to complete the layout, installing a hand hold in the top of it would be handy too!
