I am looking for a trailer for my Catalina 25, and may have located one. It was for a 25' Capri. Both are fin keel boats. I understand the Capri is about 1500 lbs lighter, so it would depend on the trailer. Has anyone had any experience using one trailer made for the other boat?
Check the weight rating on the trailer decal, if it has one. It should be dual axle and have a GVWR of at least 7,500 lbs, (2 axles rated for 3,750 each). My fin keel C-25 trailer, a factory trailer, had a GVWR of 9,000, although I do not think the axles would carry that much. The trailer alone weighed 1,400 lbs., boat and gear another 5,000.
