We bought a 1982 25ft Catalina last year. The previous owner said what she did for the outdoor teak (grab rail, hatch, etc.) was to "find the thickest varnish & just slap it on". I would like to know what I can do to make the teak look better. Is there a chemical stripper & can use or should I go the sandpaper route? After I get the varnish off, what should I use to protect the wood? Is there something I can use to dissolve the drips of varnish off the fiberglass deck & cockpit?

Any suggestions welcome,
