Is it "red right returning" or "Green go fast?" Notice the name of the boat. What happened to number 1? Should it be legal for this guy to have number 3?

CB Replies "Artifical Reef I think.."

I have seen a number of very similar 'wreck' pictures lately.
Reckon it's due to the accuracy of GPS/Autopilot combinations.
Punch up channel marker 3 and that's exactly where you're going.

Of course, it leaves one to ponder the wisdom of leaving the helm unattended at 30 mph.

Hope nobody was injured in that wreck.

...or punch in Marker 4 (from Marker 2) and anything inbetween can become an obstacle if the skipper isn't paying proper attention. I seem to read about that one every so often. Of course, the skipper usually denies that he was on autopilot, or that he was not keeping watch.

Looking at the photo, I'd say he was probably NOT on a GPS coupled autopilot at the time. Only the military has GPS equipment so accurate as to split that bow so perfectly in the middle!<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Too many beers is more likely the cause. I think the poor devil was seeing double and tried to split the difference by aiming between the two Marker 3's he saw!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
