Here's an idle question for the gurus of the marque: I realized recently that my 1984 C25, #4603, is the only one I've ever seen, either in person or in pictures, with the tan/almond/whatever you call the color hull. Are these uncommon? Were they offered during certain years? How many were made? Any other colors out there? The cockpit/cabin is white and the molded interior seems to be some kind of aqua green with imitation leather designs stamped into the gelcoat. I haven't seen any references to these options on the surviving paperwork or anyone's web site, so it may be time to chronicle some of these bits. I'd include a picture but I haven't figured out how to do that on this thing...
Charm is also a 1984 fin keel standard rig 25. And also has a tan hull. Her molded interior also sports the "imitation leather designs" you mention, however the color is the same tan or almond as the hull. Charm's trim color is brown.

Hi Rich. My '85, #5171, is a tan hull also. Gray non-skid and off-white interior. No leather though. I didn't realize that there were so many tans out there!
Mine is also "camel" and brown. When catalina sent me my original invoice from the original purchase a few years ago, they listed the color as "camel". It also lists waterline and sheer as normal brown, interior cushions as spinnaker coffee, curtains as linen brown and carpet brown. It was a $95 option to get the hull color different from white. My interior liner is a creme or camel color as well, but the invoice doesn't show that to be a choice or option in 1982. I love my camel hull and with all the brown canvas, there's not another boat in my harbour with the same look! I've seen some catalina 27's with the same color scheme too!
Check it out here: http://www.proxycreative.com/luckystar.html
So far Patrick's "Luckystar" sounds identical to "Coolatta", including the brown upholstery. It's interesting that it was an option that cost something (that must have kept the numbers down a bit!). Also interesting to know that not everyone has the fake leather texture in the liner--maybe another "option" lost in the mists of time?
I take back the description of the liner as "aqua" color--the walls are "almond" so the sole is probably picking up color reflections from the bilge paint.
Anyone have an in to the factory? How many "camels" are there?
I've also got the leatherette look on the interior liner, I like the way it softens the hard fiberglass look and keeps it from looking like a bathtub inside, but ooooh is it a perfect home for mold!! Every year I set aside a day to thoroughly bleach the interior. It also is good at collecting dirt and grit. I suppose you could do a teak hull "slat type" liner that I've seen on Islanders and such. It's not too hard to do, just another thing to add to that ever growing list!
I'm about to post new pics to the link above today or tomorrow of the completed (so far) cabin!

THERE ARE 5 CATALINA 25'S AT OUR MARINA. ONE IS THE ALMOND OR CAMEL COLORED HULL AND THE DECK IS THE SAME. IT IS THE ONLY ONE I HAVE SEEN. JOHN ON MS ACHSA
Raskal, My 1985 C25 has a "camel" colored hull. The deck is white. The trip just under the rub rail and the waterline stripe was brown, but I painted it dark green last year. The "camel" and the green look great. Looks sort of "Eddy Bauer." Catalina no longer keeps any gelcoat for these, but refers you to Spectrum Color Products spectrumcolor.com. I have received it but have not yet gotten out there. Too many other chores. Gotta get to it, and I will try to give a report. (This is in case you, like me, may have gotten a few scratches, etc.)
I like the camel color.

Loren, thanks for that fabulous tip on spectrumcolor.com. I was beginning to despair about ever finding a match!
To repay you I'll suggest a line of waterproof (actually hydrophilic, which means they get tougher when wet) epoxies for bilges and locker undersides that are well-known in auto restoration circles: POR-15. (go to http://www.porstore.com to buy online). They have a white epoxy in a squeeze tube that will fill those drilled-out snap holes, etc., with a bulletproof plug. I've also found POR-15 products to be highly fire-retardant, though they don't advertize it as such. I'm painting my lower bilge with it to prevent later water absorption problems in the fiberglass.
