Steven,
This topic came up a few weeks ago. The question was not how do I get rid of it but rather should I get rid of it.
The majority of the responses voted to keep - reason being, what happens when you need to pull the boat for maintenance - emergency or otherwise. If you have a fin keel you can use boat stands of course. If its a swinger you need a trailer or a cradle.
There was a guy looking for a cradle a few months ago on this site. You might search the archives if you and Patrick don't strike a deal.
Good luck.

<b>"Where are you located?"</b>

His bio says, "Maclean, VA" and he sails the Chesapeake.

thanks Don, I always forget to look at the bio for info like that! Sorry, that's too far away for me to deal with.

Steven:

Do I assume that a cradle is not a trailer? Can it be made into one? I have a C-25 with no trailer and am looking for a store-at-home solution, in Maine.

Rent a big flat U haul trailer and haul it home. A car trailer would also work.

I am also trying to figure out about a cradle that came with my C-25 Swing Keel, and the boat yards are all insisting it would be stored on jackstands. Why can't a swing keel be stored on jack stands? And why do boat yards NOT want to deal with a cradle?
