If any one is interested Joe Martinek can make a mast gate for the c250. Here are the pictures of mine that I installed this past weekend. Other than the slip of the dremmel tool (the mark on the mast you can see in the picture) installation was easy. This makes the second reef easy to set (no slug stopper to mess with)<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle> Here is Joe's e-mail address. joemartinek@starband.net
Your solution wouldn't work for me, as I would have to take the gate off every time I launch/retrieve. The object is not to have to use too many tools. But I do deduce from your story that I'll have to take slugs out to set the second reef, which I haven't used yet. What's the recommended procedure for dealing with the substantial amount of excess dacron?
Oscar, the solution is jack lines on those slugs below your reef points. I can set either reef without messing with the slugs which ride above the slug stopper.
The disadvantage of the jack lines is the sail doesn't flake as well.
I don't have a good picture of the jack lines but will try to take one soon. Mine was set up by Ulman Sails when they installed my 2nd reef point.
I've installed self storing sail ties on my boom... which work very well for a trailered boat where a flaking system may not be wanted.
