Spent this last weekend polishing and applying Poli-Glow. Final result turned out very good. Did notice a more bone color to the hull than white. Not sure if there was any color distortion or sunlight problem, but the hull looks great. We started with McGuire's cleaning compound to remove all old wax. Then using the Poli-Glow cleaner and multiple rinses to get all of the cleaning acid off the hull. Next we applied the polimer, 5 coats, and the result is terrific. The finish is the best we've been able to accomplish is 8 years of being Free Spirit's her owner.

Currently I'm looking for a brush to use for cleaning the deck. My polisher has a 9" disc and it does a poor job on anything other than a large flat surface. I'm looking for a brush that will fit a small had drill that I can use to polish, wax and buff the deck area. Or another solution to the problem. The deck seems to take 4 times the amount of time that we spend on the hull and anything that shortens deck cleaning and polishing increases sail time. Any suggestions.

RL,
I'm not an advocate of waxing the deck and cockpit surfaces for safety reasons. For cleaning (which would also be a good prep for waxing) we use a ScotchBrite pad and Scrub Free. When we get mildew in the cockpit seat non-skid we use Tilex with a fine/stiff bristle brush.
Good Luck.

OJ,
Thanks. One large bottle of Scrub Free , and one ScotchBrite, and eight hours later Free Spirit looks new again. We also used Fantastick and a ScotchBrite pad on the rub rail. It looked so bad when we started I was afraid we were going to have to replace the rail. Two hours and a lot of elbow grease later and it looks as good an new. Thanks for the advice, have a good season.

I always feel better when someone tells me they spent as much time on a project as I did . . . <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
