How much does a Catalina 25, fixed keel (1986) weigh? The specs say 1900 lbs ballast and 4550 lbs displacement...Which is the weight to consider regarding towing capacity?

The "specs" are designer numbers. They do not represent the manufactured weight of the C25. Nearly all of the C25s actually weigh much more than the spec (displacement) weight. I know of one wing keel version in the Sacramento CA area that - with trailer - weighs in on the truck scales at over 11,000 lbs......of course, it has all of the options you can think of including inboard engine, hot/cold pressure water, shower in the head, inverter, etc.

Safely, you should consider the boat and trailer to weigh in at between 6,000 and 6,500 lbs - up to 7,500 lbs - until you weigh the outfit at the truck scales near you.
