 trip planning "hering bay - Soloman's" any advice

I plan to set sail in about 3 weeks or so from Herring bay in the Chesapeake to teh Soloman's it's roughly about 35 miles. any advice, suggestions, recommendations?

There's a book called The Crusing Guide to the Chesapake that I really like. It breaks the Bay down into sections & recommends anchorages with some info on approaches & things to do. I'll try to look up the author & publisher tonight & post tomorrow.

What type of recomendations are you looking for ? Local knoledge or a check list. What to take etc.

1. any uncharted hazards
2. areas to stay away from
3. current expectations
4. how long a sail should i expect
