The stainless stern pulpit around the cockpit must be replaced on my 1980 Catalina 25. Any idea where I can purchase a replacement? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have my catalog handy, but you could try calling Catalina Direct and see if they carry the pulpits. If they don't have them, maybe they could direct you to a source for them. Another shot may be calling Catalina Yachts themselves. They might have some information.

Here is a link to Catalina Direct.

just pulled out the new Catalina Direct Price guide and looked up part # E1289 stern pulpit $245. 1-800-959-7245. How's that for an ad for Catalina Direct. The real question is why do you need to replace and is there a way yours can be fixed?

you may want a boat yard to look at it. i was trying to tighten mine this past weekend and it was a chore and a half! pretty hard to get access to the screws.

When I bought "Quiet Time", she had no stern pulpit or lifelines, these having been extra-cost options that the original owner didn't order, I guess. I bought a pulpit and the six stanchions and proceeded to install them. It took 16 hours of the most difficult installation work I have EVER done, and the Admiral was ready to keelhaul or divorce me, or both, by the time it was done. Two of the bolts for the pulpit turned out to be absolutely impossible to get at from the underside to put on nuts and washers, and for these I had to use screws and wedge anchors. The lifeline stanchions and both pulpits are installed at the factory before the hull and deck are joined, I am pretty sure, and that is really the only way to do it without major difficulty. I will never even consider buying another used boat that needs to have this kind of deck hardware replaced. It is just too difficult to get at those bolts; impossible for some of them.
