Does anyone know the measurements for the doorway at the bulkhead that goes into the head area. My boat is about 30 mins away and was hoping someone had measured it already and would save me a trip! I have an 83 TR/WK. Thanks and this forum has been great for a new Catalina 25 owner.
I scrounged around and finally found the measurements I used to make a curtain for that doorway ... 20" X 58".
The width is pretty accurate, but the vertical distance might not match your boat exactly. When I bought my boat there was no door there. A PO had installed a nasty-looking piece of 2X4 with a track on it to hang a door ... I removed the 2X4 and replaced it with a piece of teak that is 4" wide at its widest point (the cabin roof slopes down as you move to starboard).
The other thing that might effect the vertical distance ... you have a wing keel, and I've heard that the cabin sole is flatter to give you more head room (vs my swing keel). I don't know if that's the case or not, but I thought I'd mention it.
Thanks. I found a used teak door that might fit but wasn't sure of the measurements. My wing keel is a retro fit so my inside should be like a swing keel. I hope to launch this week. If you saw the weather thhis week a tornado hit Lawrence Kansas where my boat is located. The guys at the marina said it passed by on the opposite side of the lake from our boats so we just missed it. Unfortuneatly, others were not as lucky as an apartment was hit, but no injuries.
