i'm thinking about removing the sink on the starboard side aft of the V-berth. i want to turn it into a "foul weather/sweater/bathing suit" closet. i really don't ned 2 sinks within 5 feet of eachother. any ideas?

That's the way the boats are without the sink option. All our foulies, sweaters, and sailing jackets hang up in there. It can get a little damp if the window leaks (like ours do).

Just wondering, if you convert it, could you still use the hose to the thru-hull? Maybe connect it to some kind of pan and drain fitting at the bottom of the closet to drain away the water from the wet things?

i'm not sure about the through hull, i haven't really investigated it yet. it's more of the "maybe-to-do" things.

I think I heard that was an option on Cat 25 few years ago however my 1982 was an aftermarket remodel and I love it. Original owner put wood dowell in for hangers, shutter doors stained to match wood installed on spring hinges. He also did same behind Port Head with doors and two shelves which come in handy for storage. If I were smart enough I could send Pics of same. Dont know about drain hose?

Uhhhh... Just make sure the pan is above the waterline! And make sure the seacock is closed before you go on port tack!

Good point, Dave!

I think the curve of the hull at that sink and the shelf under the sink would make it easy to install a pan above the waterline, but the port tack with the seacock open probably would fill it.
