Is there any way to "lock" the pop top up? The only way I can do it is to run a line from the bow to the cabin clean to hold it up. Seems like there should be an easier way.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Catalina Direct sells a gizmo that does the trick. It slides up and down in the sail track at the bottom of the mast, and you lock it in place with a big knurled nut ... there is a "hook" sticking out of it that holds onto the front lip of the poptop. I got one when I ordered the power lift kit for the poptop ... 'seems like it cost about $12.95 or so.

'Hope that helps.

Buzz,
That is the simple trick I was hoping for! I will get one ordered right away. Thanks for the tip.

Get a copy of their C-25 Owner's Handbook for about $10, too. It's full of that stuff. They're good folks and know our boats.

Hi Jeff,

Here's a link to page 19 of the C25 parts manual.

http://c25c250.best.vwh.net/restricted/pc19.gif

#6 is the pop-top mast lock. It slides into the kerf slot on the aft side of the mast and slides up to secure the lip of the pop-top to the mast.

Lots of trick things to do with the POP top. Here is just one. If you want a few more inches of head room put float tubes around the perimiter just inside the lip of the top. The 4" diamiter tubes will hold the top up higher and give you slightly more standing room. You can also leave gaps for ventalation. http://www.poolproducts.com/waternoodle.html They can be found at Toys R Us very cheap.

Just for some added peice of mind, after putting the hook with the slide into place, we attach our boom downhaul (cunninham hook would work too) to one of the legs and tighten it up. The last thing I need is for a guest to get there fingers ripped apart when some powerboaters wakes us at the dock.
