I originaly posted this on the C-25 list. Just wanted to post it here for everyone. We will be cruising to Penrose Point on the East side of the Key Penninsula. Information can be found at www.nwboating.com . We will be on the N.W side of the park adjacent to the 3 mooring spots. Friday through Monday. We will have a bonfire saturday night. Im hope all of you that can will show up. There will be all types of boats there. Hans Christian, Alberg, Cape Dory, Alberg, Catalina and who knows what else. Come and socialize, walk the wooded trails, gather oysters, crab, there is lots to do. The adjacent camp area has hot showers. Hope to see you there.
I looked up your cruise destination on Maptech. Penrose Point State Park appears to be due west of Tacoma across Carr Inlet. Looks like it will be a very nice cruise! Hope you have a great Holiday weekend. A few of us from Fleet 4 will be doing a cruise on our "home ground" Folsom Lake, and another group is trailering to Clear Lake, which is about 80 miles northwest of Sacramento. You may have seen the Folsom Lake photos I have posted over the last couple of weeks, so you have an idea of what Folsom Lake looks like. The high water level has had one unfortunate side effect-the water is still too cold for swimming, only 65ºF. Ths is due to the high inflow rate, which is all snowmelt from the mountains east of the lake. I can't complain though, having the lake chock-full now means we should get a nice long season until it drops again.

Well, I'm scheduled to put the boat in the water tomorrow. So, I'm hoping to get to Penrose Saturday. I just have to scrub the deck, paint one last coat of bottom paint on the rudder, test run the outboard, and load up all the necessities in the boat tonight. Drop it in the water. Then spend the next two evenings tuning the rig, setting up the jib furler, running the lines, etc., etc., etc.
At least the barrier-coat bottom job is finished! Whew, hope I don't have to do that again any time soon. <img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle>
John that sounds great. It sure would be nice to see you two again. Ill be there Friday through Monday. Perhaps we can have another crab feed if the luck is with us. Rain or shine. We can use Triska for dinner this time. Perhaps even watch a movie. Captain Ron is a regular aboard. The lap top I use for Nav Programs has a DVD in it.
Larry yes I saw the photos. Ill have to post some too. I know a little about your area. I was stationed at Beal AFB for a short period back in the late 60s early 70s. Its a nice area although a bit hot for me in the summer. Don't complain about the water temps. On average the water here in the Sound never gets much over 43 deg unless your in a shallow bay where the sun can reach the bottom. Sounds like you in for a goos summer. Let us know how your Memorial day weekend goes and Ill do the same.
