Under the v berth I have two through hull valves. One I know is to let water into the toilet. I know to turn it clockwise 1/4 turn or perpendicular to the line, to shut it. Next to this through hull valve is another one, larger in size. I have figured out that this allows waste water to dump directly from the toilet if the y valve is turned to allow it to bypass the tank. I tested this theory using fresh water while the boat was on the trailer. What I couldn't determine was which way to turn the valve to close it. This valve appears to be turned differenty than the others and the valve will turn 180 degrees instead of 90 degrees. Now I'm in the water and I would have more piece of mind knowing it was turned to a shut position. Can anyone shed more light on this?
Turn it 90 degrees. Sounds like the stop on the valve body may have been broken off. If there is one line in and one line out its 90 Deg.If it is a selector valve I.E three lines then it could be 180. Like a Y valve.
