Anyone,
How far back from the gooseneck is your boom vang bail mounted?

Thanks

I'm not sure of the exact distance on my boom the vang bale is attached, but the vang is close to 45 degrees, so that means that the distance from the gooseneck to the bale on the boom is equal to the distance from the gooseneck to the bale on the mast.

Hi Earl,

Don is right. The distance from the bale on the mast to the boom gooseneck is about the same distance as from the boom gooseneck to the bale on the boom. If you remember your 10th grade geometry, what you have is a bilateral right triangle, with the equal legs on the boom and mast. The vang is the "c" leg.

My 10th grade geometry teacher was right;

"someday you're going to regret not paying attention in this class Mr. Madsen!"
