Hi folks,

My 89 model tall rig came with a fixed gooseneck for attaching the boom to the mast. Is this standard on the 89 model. I noticed, from the discussions on boom placement, and also the parts sheet listed in the tech section (I don't have an 89 manual from the DPO) that the goosneck slides in the mast track.
The reason I am asking is that I also got a bimini, in pieces, from the DPO and was thinking of installing it on the boat. with the tall rig there might not be much room. I have read that some folks have reefed their main and raised the boom when using the bimini. With a fixed gooseneck I won't be able to do that.
Any thoughts? should I get a sliding gooseneck? Stick with the fixed and have a low bimini? It gets hot in the south.

Frank,

I have an 89 WK/TR too and the boom is fixed. Not much room for a bimini. I think the TR boom is about 1 foot lower than the SR.
