Can't imagine what would do that but if you suspect it's a rust type stain, try "On&Off" Hull and Bottom cleaner. An acid based cleaner that removes that brown water line stain very easily even in my old hull. Just wipe on and hose off. Before I found

Try a little CLR (Calsium,Lime and Rust) remover or even bleach. Just be sure to follow it up with a good wash and fiberglass finish restorer like 3M's product. Good Luck and Happy Holidays

Before you start spending lots of money on assorted chemicals just try bleach. Dilute it a bit, mop down the boat and rinse it off.

With such a new boat, you may want to contact Catalina. Could be a latent factory issue. Even if the discoloration is new, the source could be within the gelcoat during the finishing process?

Thanks for all your help, guys. I did contact Catalina and they advised using a mixture of Bon Ami and alcohol. Alternatively, they suggested using Armor All. I'm anxious to see how this works.

Rick,

I have a two year old 250 WK. It also has developed a rectangular patch of yellowing just foward of the mast. I have not found anything that would restore the original white color. I just assumed that it was a discoloration of the gelcoat caus
