I ordered the 3rd generation rudder in April. It arrived the weekend before I put the boat away in October. We got to use it during the trip to the winter boatyard. It made a big difference. It was a very windy day and the steering was very noticably
We will be changing to the 3rd generation rudder over the winter (pulled out on Monday). I'll be sure to post an update in March when we drop her back in.
Has anyone obtained a set of specifications for the three generations of rudders for the 250K? A set of measurements for each rudder produced for the water ballast and wing keel models would be a good addition to the Tech Section.
I have hull #385 and I upgraded to the new 3rd generation rudder in September. It took 6 weeks for it to arrive in Austin, Texas. I requested a rudder for wheel steering and for the 250WK. I added antifouling paint and immediately went to install the rudd
Steve, in my case it had to be cut, we turned it every way possible it was only about an 1/8" but it was just not going on so I had 3/4" cut to allow for the fiberglass work. It just go to show how close the tolerencs are and for the individual differen
Steve, I wonder if the fittings for your wheel steering prevented you from turning the rudder all the way. I found I did have to have it all the way over to get it to fit and it had to be all the way over to fit.
