Was wondering if anyone has replaced there onboard head and took
out there holding tank and replaced it with a portable potti?
Any thoughts would be appreciated..
The reason I am asking, is my pump on my head needs reworked
and the kit is about $50-$60. We don't even use it, and if
we did on occasion the trouble to go to pump station.
I thought that if I also took out the holding tank, it would free
up some storage.
Thanks

Been there, done that. After removing the old equipment I attached a piece of teak plywood (width determined by bulkheads and depth by new porta-potti) where the old head sat. Attached the new porta-potti to the plywood. Bought a model that had the option to attach the evacuation hose from the thru-deck . . . allows the best of both worlds.

Thanks for the response.
I do believe that will be my next project.
I forgot to ask, what to do with the hoses from the thru-
hull valves?
Thanks

Good grief, I don't recall having a thru-hull valve - but I must have. I have only two thru-hulls - one for each sink. The old head must have drawn water in through the forward thru-hull. In that case I replaced the tee with a elbow for the remaining head sink drain hose - leaving the thru-hull valve in tact of course.
