Hello All,

Is anyone here from the Wilmington, Holden Beach area? My wife and I are vacationing at Holden Beach in a couple weeks, and we'd love to meet some other Catalina owners and maybe go for a sail.

I don't live there (wish I did, I own property in Southport) But you can check out this site there may be Catalina owners http://www.webspawner.com/users/southbaysailors/

By the way if you get down to Southport (only 26 miles) from Wilmington check out Mr. P's restaurant on the intercoastal.

Thanks Frank. I'll do that. My wife and I love Southport. Our dream is to retire there. We'll see.

Ben,

On June 28, the local Southport Sailing club, www.southportsailing.com is hosting a clam bake on a nearby sand bar. There will be shuttles provided to/from the "island" during the event from Southport Marina. (See their website for details and other events.)

We hope to be there, and expect to see many other local sailors there as well.

Hi Don,

We might be able to attend the Clam Bake, as we'll be driving right by Southport on the way to Holden with a day to spend before we can check into our house (4 pm). The night prior we're going to be staying in Raleigh, so we'll only be a few hours away.

Raleigh, home of the Angus Barn! I can't wait!

Ben, My mistake, I accidentally put a comma at the end of that link. I've removed the comma, and now the link should work.

Thanks, -don

Ben

Check out St. James Plantation off Rte 211, thats where I am. It has everything one would want in a retirement community including a marina.

Oh if i only could find a job down there
