Hi,
I'm about to cut a 4" diameter hole in my transom to access the port travellor camcleat fasteners. It appears that's the only way to tighten the loose bolt. Can't access it from either the port sail locker nor the quarterberth. I can cut the hole under the fixture which would put it in the gas tank locker but I'm now wondering if locating it in the center of the transom would give me access to the bolts in question plus those on the starbard side as well as the rudder hardware. Has anyone installed such a deck plate? Thanks!

I have, but I've never tried to reach the traveler cam cleats from it. It was to access the gudgeon bolts.

I have installed a 6" Viking port in the rear wall of the fuel locker. It was placed there to reach the swim ladder nuts. Using a mirror, I can see the nuts on the traveler cam. I also have another port in the center of the rear cockpit wall to access the upper gudgeon. The gap between the transom and the inner liner (cockpit) is only about 12 to 34 inch, I don't see how you could possibly reach anything from that location.

Thanks, Earl. Very helpful! I'll go with the fuel locker location.
