My partner (Stewart Eads) and I are about to install a CDI roller furler our 1982 C25 , standard rig. We plan to do it with mast up. A critical measure is the length of the forestay from pin to pin. I've got something of the order of 31 feet as a measure. Has anyone done this CDI thing ? What measures did you have ? I posted this already in the General Forum and now am doing a second post in this forum. The more numbers I have the better I'll feel
We're installing a 135 roller genoa and the length of its luff is 26'5".
The length of the CDI luff support is about 33' (+ or -). Adding on for the furling unit itself plus fittings at the deck, I'm estimating I need
to cut the CDI luff at about 28'6". Can anyone say yea or nay on that ?
I don't want to be in a position, as the old joke goes of saying "I cut this thing twice and it is still too short !".
THanks
