I have installed a radio/CD player on my boat and it comes with the standard car/boat antenna plug. The PO had a VHF radio with an antenna and the typical CB radio plug. I sail on a small lake and will not be replacing the CB radio but would like to use the antenna. I have tried several web sites but to no avail. Does anyone know of a place where I could get an antenna adpater that would allow me to connect these two. By the way, this web site has been great to a new owner. I have a 1983 TR/WK.
Most car radios use a spike looking connector which can be adapted to a PL-259 connector. Check Radio Shack. Keep in mind that the female version of a PL-259 connector is an SO-239.
